Eating right
In order for your body to look its best on the outside, you must first take care of the inside. Vitamins and nutrients can be provided by a properly balanced diet. Many nutrients can be absorbed internally through vegetables and other foods. Therefore, it is best to consume a variety of foods. This ensures that you will not only obtain sufficient amounts of essential amino acids, but sufficient amounts of other nutrients as well. A balanced diet consists of carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins, and minerals.
Carbohydrates are the body’s main source of energy. Fiber is believed to reduce the risk of some cancers and increase levels of H.D.L., which promotes cardiovascular health. Protein, needed for growth and the function and repair of tissues, is essential for the production of antibodies, and for the hormones and enzymes that regulate bodily functions.
Some foods have been blamed for beauty problems, such as acne. It is believed that chocolate, shellfish, and fried foods worsen acne by stimulating oil glands. And since hair is one of the most rapidly growing parts of the body, it is very sensitive to any reduction in vitamins or protein. Without basic proteins, hair will not grow and will not replace itself as it falls out.
